See where your control can improve. For free.
The PID Performance Scan uses your own trend data to show how your control loops really perform: which loops oscillate or respond too slowly, keep deviating from the setpoint, are corrected by hand more often than necessary or sit close to alarm and trip limits, and what causes it. No extra sensors, no modifications, no production loss and no cost. Afterwards you know where things can improve and what that delivers, and only then do you decide whether to continue. It starts with a no-obligation video call, and the whole scan is done remotely.
What the scan involves
The scan starts with a video call and ends with findings you can check yourself. Three steps, entirely remote and without touching your process.
-
Introduction
In a video call we discuss your plant: which control loops there are, where operators intervene and which loops cause the most unrest. Based on that, we decide together which control loops to include in the scan. No preparation needed.
-
Collecting data
We work with the trend data that is already there: a CSV export from your DCS or historian, supplemented with screenshots of the control loops. No extra sensors, no modifications. If an export is not possible, we work from the trend charts themselves.
-
Process analysis
From the trend data we derive how your process really behaves: how fast it responds, how much dead time there is and how strongly a control action carries through. For each loop we also map oscillations, control deviations, recovery behaviour, control activity and the margin to trip limits. That makes it clear where the loop becomes restless and why.
What you get
After the scan we discuss the findings with you or your engineer in a video call. Everything can be traced back to your own data.
- For each control loop an assessment on the same objective metrics: deviation from setpoint, oscillation, control activity, overshoot, recovery time and margin to alarm and trip limits.
- An estimate of what optimisation delivers in calm and stability, and a fixed price for that optimisation. So you know exactly where you stand in advance.
- An honest conclusion. If there is nothing to improve, the same analysis will show it and we will tell you so.
Practical details
- Cost
- Free No invoice and no obligation. Afterwards you decide whether to continue.
- Lead time
- A few working days Depending on the amount of data and the complexity of the process.
- Your effort
- One video call and an export No site visit, no workshops, no project team, no disruption for your operators.
- Intervention
- None Only existing trend data. Your plant simply keeps running.
What happens next
If the scan shows that things can be calmer, you receive a fixed price from us for the optimisation: calculating new settings, supporting the implementation and proving the improvement. No surprises afterwards.

Drum level control, from drum level to feedwater pump
A drum level, a feedwater valve and pumps moving up and down in the same rhythm. Now within a band half as wide, with 62% less valve movement.
Curious what a scan would show for you?
The scan starts with a no-obligation introduction by video call. A short description of your process and the behaviour you see is enough. Would you like to look for yourself first? Take the quickscan: twelve questions, one minute.
