Calculated, implemented and proven.
After the PID Performance Scan we know how your process behaves. The optimal control settings follow from that: not by feel, but from the measured time constant, dead time and process gain. We support the implementation during normal operation and use a verification measurement to show how much calmer and more stable your process runs. At a fixed price that you know in advance.
What the optimisation involves
Three steps, each technically substantiated and discussed with you in advance. Your team stays in control the whole time.
-
Calculate
Based on the scan, we calculate the proportional gain (Kp), the integral time (Ti) and, where needed, the derivative time (Td) within ten working days. Other settings, such as rate limits, limits and the dead band, are also matched to practice. We discuss the proposed changes with you or your engineer in advance, including the reasoning behind them. For each control loop you get the current and new values side by side, so you can record them straight away in your settings list, or in your MoC procedure if your site requires it.
-
Implement
Once approved, whoever is authorised at your site enters the new settings step by step: the desk operator, the DCS controller or the engineer. We support on site. Everything happens during normal operation. We continuously follow process behaviour and plant load, and during the implementation there is always a fallback to the old settings.
-
Verify
Two to four weeks after implementation we make the before and after comparison remotely, on fresh trend data, on the same metrics as in the scan: deviation from setpoint, oscillation, control activity, overshoot, recovery time and margin to alarm and trip limits. In black and white, verifiable by your own engineers.
What you get
From the day of implementation the process runs more calmly. What changes is measurable and stays verifiable.
- Control loops that keep the process closer to the setpoint, with less oscillation and less unnecessary valve movement.
- More margin to alarm and trip limits, fewer alarms and less manual intervention by the operators.
- Less wear on valves, pumps and drives. Often the consumption of energy, raw materials and auxiliaries goes down as well.
- After completion and payment, the full report: the analysis, the calculated settings and the reasoning, documented for your own records.
Practical details
- Price
- Fixed price Agreed in advance after the scan. No hourly billing, no percentage afterwards.
- Lead time
- Ten working days to proposal Then implementation on site and a verification measurement after two to four weeks.
- Downtime
- None Implementation during normal operation, without extra hardware.
- Control
- With your team Your own operator enters the changes; we support and substantiate.
What happens next
Process conditions change, and settings that are optimal now need not be in a year. With a periodic review, for a fixed annual fee, your control loops stay calm.

NOₓ trim controller, SCR ammonia dosing
A controller that corrected more than 40 times per hour and consistently came out too high. Now closer to the setpoint, with half as much correcting.

Drum level control, from drum level to feedwater pump
A drum level, a feedwater valve and pumps moving up and down in the same rhythm. Now within a band half as wide, with 62% less valve movement.
